Pampering for Pooches

Your precious pet will experience one on one grooming  with relaxing, no rush touch.
All breeds are catered for  and I provide a range of options for your dogs pampering in the Mutt Hutt, from a hydro bath/blow-dry for a short smooth coat such as a Staffy to double coated breeds such as Retrievers and Bernese Mountain dogs.  Smaller breeds, Shih Tzu, Maltese and poodles, have coats that will benefit from regular 6 to 8 weekly visits. Regular brushing by owners between visits to a salon will help keep your dogs coat in great condition for clipping.

Depending on your dogs grooming needs, your pooch may take 30 minutes for a bath or  up to two hours of pampering/clipping/groom,  so a visit to the delicious Gidge bakery for a relaxing coffee and cake may be in order. You may wish to drop off  and return when your dog is finished.  Some owners like to stay for their puppy's first grooming experience.  I can advise the owners whether it would be in pups best interests to have a familiar face around or perhaps to be out of sight.  My aim is to make Puppy's first visit to a grooming salon pleasant unhurried pamper/Haircut.

From hand stripping to comb-outs, dematting and scissoring to the summer clip (The Full Monty) on dogs that suffer in our heat. I have years  of experience in all breeds requirements.
Hydro-bathing is a total hands on experience for your dog and they all enjoy a great massage and scrub in warm water.
All dogs are rinsed in continuous fresh water with no recycling of grey water.
Your pooch is then blow dried so there is no “wet dog” smell on your drive home. Towel drying is an option if you require.
Clipping is done to breed standard or you may wish to modify a style to suit your dogs lifestyle or your personal choice.  I encourage owners to bring photos along of their preferred style and I can advise of whether that style will work with type of coat your dog has.  You may wish to leave it to me!  We can have some fun and change styles each season. 
Dematting/Stripping/Comb-outs - Double coated dogs benefit from regular hydro bathing and stripping of undercoat at change of season.  Why not bring your longer haired pooch for a bath and blow-dry plus a brush between clips to maintain a great look.
Contour Scissoring -  For any contour scissoring your dogs coat needs to be in good condition, able to be combed through, no matting and a decent length.  This can take a great deal more time than a shorter clip and costs will reflect this.  A well balance result is achieved that can enhance your dogs looks and conformation and overall look, with a straight top line or a rounded look.

I have been dog grooming since 2002 and trained  by an experienced groomer/dog breeder at her salon Datz for Dogs in Willetton.  I attend workshops when possible to up skill and am a member of the Dog Groomers Association of WA, and I Love my job.
